Want To Make Money Online? The Internet Is Fertile Teritory For Earning Money.
Is it possible still to make money on the Internet? The answer is that it depends on your expectations.
For example, if you expect that you'll be making thousands of dollars in a matter of days, weeks or months then the answer is no. Although many people, myself included, make their living full time on the Internet, the fact of the matter is that I have spent years honing my skills and have spent countless hours developing websites about topics that interest me. It's much easier to write or create content for a website that is based on a topic that you are knowledgeable about and feel you might just enjoy writing about it too.
Now, if what you're looking to do is to make some extra money every month to help with your monthly budget or anything else, then the answer is yes.
It is not unreasonable to think that a newbie, with just a little bit of work, can make anywhere from $20 to $200 per month. This can be done fairly easily if you already have a blog that has developed somewhat of a following. In fact that is the optimum situation for newbie to be in in regards to having a blog or website.
If you don't already have a blog then it might be a good idea to start one. Blogger.com is a great place to set up your blog but there are tons of options. Perhaps you'd be more comfortable with Wordpress.com or maybe. If you use the Opera web browser and have a free account with them you should really head over to Opera.com and log in to your account. As it stands, Opera now gives it's members a really nice (and free) online blog that doesn't require you to know any internet coding. Just type your articles, jokes, recipes or whatever you enjoy writing about and just place a backlink to the adress of your new blog at places you already frequent, i.e. Forums, blogs, websites, gaming sites and any other place that you already visit regularly that allows you to post a link to your site.
You certainly can submit your website to Google directly, however I have personally found that having Google find your site organically through links from other websites helps to place your website higher in the search results for whatever keyword or niche you're writing about. Trust me, if you put just one or two links on some other website that allows it, Google will find your site and eventually index it.
There are litteraly thousands of ways to actually make money online. You can place ads on your blog which earn you $0.xx everytime someone clicks on that link, this is called CPC or Cost per Click.
You can try to sign up with a CPA network and place the various advertisers ads from them on your website, this works very much like the above example except that there are more choices where you can earn money for clicks on the ads, you can earn money on comission, both of these are called CPA or Cost Per Action. You can earn money money with some advertisers on a CPM basis which means you earn some amount of money for every thousands times that the banner ad is displayed to a unique visitor.
What is right for a newbie? It's hard to say but I don't think that CPA is the way to go. If you have a considerable amount of traffic then either the CPC (cost per click) or CPM (cost per thousand impressions) as you are more likely to actually start earning money from the start.
Actually, for someone who is new and just wants to have their website earn them a few extra bucks then I would seriously recomend that you go with a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) advertiser. Yes, it may seem like 1000 visitors is going to take you forever but if you just promote your website a little bit by placing those links on websites you already frequent then you'll start getting more traffic then you expected and that translates into money.
